I think I’ve finally got there – the studio is pretty much finished (to paraphrase Leonardo da Vinci, some things are never finished – only abandoned).
It has actually turned out to be a great comfortable space and surpassed even my own (often lofty) initial expectations.
Once again, learnt lots that I didn’t know I didn’t know (such as resizing and mounting doors) but I now feel I have a space that is roomy (thanks in part to my new wall easel), has everything I need close at hand, dust proof, insulated, well lit, comfortable (missing a bar fridge mind you but you can’t have everything) and leaving me completely devoid of any excuses that I previously fell back on.
I’ve moved my library of art books and reference out there as well as a comfortable chair that means I can sit an peruse at my leisure.
It has certainly taken a hell of a lot longer than I originally anticipated but when I think back to where I started, I’m pretty proud of the result.
And as an added bonus, my little workshop setup although now condensed into a smaller area, actually works a hell of a lot better and is much better organised.
Win win all round. Just need to get in and do the work now!
