Tim Eden. Blue Hair, 2017. Oil on canvas sheet, 8″ x 12″

This is the second of two portrait studies completed over a couple of nights exploring opposing colour theory options.

  • The first (and the subject of a previous post) being a limited palette of two bright, contrasting colours
  • and the subject of this post, created with muted, more neutral colours

The muted palette gives a sense of calm, but the overall greyness has more of a melancholy vibe compared to the previous painting.

Interesting experiment.
