Everything in the known universe, including ourselves, is made up of energy (E). As energy is neither created nor destroyed – only its form changes – all we have is all there will ever be.

 

Inspired by the transformation and self discovery motif in Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey, my E-Motif series of figurative oil paintings draw on the parallels between our existence as pure energy in transition, and similar cycles playing out in light, colour and human emotion.
